When you feel conflicted, it’s easy to get stuck. You might have parts that:  

• Want to try new things but are stopped by parts who dread change.
• Want to accomplish tasks but are overcome by parts who procrastinate.
• Want to be healthier but are undermined by parts with other preferences.

You’ve tried to control or criticize your way to inner agreement, only to find that moving forward with this internal tension feels… awful. Wouldn’t it be a relief to find an simpler way?

There is a simpler way: you can learn how to work directly with the different parts of yourself using a powerful method called Internal Family Systems (IFS).

THERAPY VS. COACHING

You’re ready to make changes in your life, and you may be wondering: which is right for me—therapy or coaching? 

Psychotherapy is deep inner work aimed at resolving mild to intense psychological problems. If you have addictions, extensive trauma or difficulty coping day-to-day, therapy is the right option.

Life coaching is for people who are already “functional” but want more - to flourish, grow, or thrive in new ways. Another (oversimplified) way to distinguish between therapy and coaching services is that therapy takes people from ‘low’ to ‘neutral,’ or from ‘neutral’ to ‘good.’  Coaching can pick up where therapy leaves off, and take people from ‘so-so’ or ‘good’ to ‘great’ (long-term therapy can do that, too!)

TYPES OF COACHING

There are two main types of life coaching:

Targeted Life Coaching focuses on setting goals and achieving specific objectives, without extensive emotional processing. Targeted life coaching helps you plan out strategies and keeps you accountable each step of the way, applying principles of behavioral change to one area of your life at a time. Examples of this would be career, relationship, business and health-focused coaching.

|  Transformational Life Coaching focuses on guiding you to reconnect with who you are at the core, so that you can embody more clarity and courage in all areas of your life. Like individual psychotherapy, transformational life coaching involves earnest personal growth work. It challenges you to face emotional issues in your life in the service of living your most authentic and aligned life.

Life coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process, helping you to do the inner and outer work needed to live intentionally. I combine inner insight techniques and real-world actions to move you forward towards your most rewarding life.
