Who I help:

I work with adults, families and teens dealing with anxiety, trauma, loss, or challenges in relationships & communication. My clients are often seeking strategies for navigating new or overwhelming phases of life, while understanding — and healing from — past experiences.

How I help:

I’m originally from New York and find that growing up in an environment where people speak their minds has transferred into my therapeutic technique.    I love supporting clients while modeling open and honest communication in the therapeutic process, which then empowers the folks I work with to express themselves openly in and outside of therapy.

During my 30 year career, a theme that I hear often is that I’m a “chameleon,” able to adapt to the needs of those I support. Therapy is like any relationship: there needs to be a connection, a sense of adaptability, openness and a willingness to understand. I enjoy the developing the therapeutic relationship, and working together to help clients heal.

What my clients say about working with me:

Clients would say that I’m warm, engaging, and relatable. I often hear that folks feel connected quickly, and appreciate that I will give a gentle push (with humor and honesty) to help them make progress toward what matters to them.

My clients often appreciate that I help them set clear goals and regularly keep them accountable to practicing skills between our sessions. In this way, we stay focused on the client’s values and collaboratively assess progress as we go.

Off the clock:

In my free time, I love to travel, entertain, read and hike. I’m an Air Force veteran, and have been honored to support military behavioral health programs in the States, Panama and Germany, which enabled me to meet people from all walks of life.

My first midlife crisis was getting my doctorate and the second was living in Germany for a year!    Both experiences were tremendous learning opportunities, and confirmed for me that this field is where I’m meant to be.  I’m passionate about using my skills to help others navigate major life transitions.

I’m an empty nester who has experienced all phases of parenting and I love visiting my young adult children who continue to teach me patience. love and humility.
